Jenny Hobbs was born in Durban and had a long career in freelance journalism before moving on to writing books. She is the author of eleven books, including seven novels, and her work has been published in the United Kingdom and in German translation. She was one of the founders of the Franschhoek Literary Festival for which she worked for eight years, the last four as Director, before stepping down in 2014. She lives in Franschhoek where she continues to write.
