Position: Marketing & Publicity Coordinator
Penguin Random House is a successful book publisher seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Marketing & Publicity Coordinator to support the execution of marketing and publicity campaigns across our publishing portfolio.
This role sits at the heart of our Marketing team and plays a key role in coordinating campaigns, supporting media engagement, and ensuring the smooth delivery of both digital and in-person activations.
Key responsibilities
Publicity & Media Support
- Assist in executing publicity campaigns for assigned titles
- Draft press releases and coordinate review copy distribution
- Respond to media enquiries and maintain media lists
- Monitor media coverage and track publicity activity
Events Management
- Provide operational support for events (online and in-person), including:
- Virtual event setup, reporting, and content distribution
- On-site logistics support, including event setup and coordination
- Take direct ownership of event execution responsibilities:
- Be fully responsible for the delivery of a minimum of two media and trade events per year
- Project manage book launch events end-to-end, including planning, coordination, and execution
- Attendance of launches and festivals
- Assist in executing campaign activations aligned with marketing plans
Digital Marketing Coordination
- Support digital campaigns, including:
- Email marketing setup and reporting (e.g. Everlytic)
- Social media tracking and campaign reporting
- Provide campaign inputs and updates to the digital marketing team
Author & Stakeholder Coordination
- Assist with author-related logistics, including travel coordination
- Support author campaigns and engagement initiatives
- Compile author and campaign performance reports
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain marketing and publicity trackers and reports
- Assist with budget tracking and expense administration
- Prepare meeting minutes and maintain filing systems
Community & Audience Engagement
- Monitor and respond to audience and community inboxes
- Manage mailing lists and database updates
- Support audience engagement initiatives and campaigns
Promotions & Competitions
- Coordinate prize fulfilment for competitions
- Communicate with winners and ensure timely delivery of prizes
Qualifications & Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Marketing, Communications, or related field)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a marketing, publicity, or administrative support role
- Valid driver’s licence and own transport advantageous
