Pat Hopkins was a history and political science graduate from the University of Natal, and an award-winning writer, travel journalist and author with a special interest in extraordinary people who believed they were called by a god to fill a divine purpose. Pat Hopkins was a regular features contributor, travel journalist and award-winning writer of numerous books, many that explored counter culture in South Africa, they include:The Boy, Cringe the Beloved Country, Place: A collection of South African travel and landscape quotations, Worst Journeys, 101 Beloved Bars of Southern Africa, Voelvry: The movement that rocked South Africa and Ghosts of South Africa. Johnny Golightly Comes Home was written as part of his dissertation for a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of the Witwatersrand. Pat Hopkins co-authored The South African Fact Book which was released by Penguin on the 1st November 2009.
