Rodney Hartman was all things to sports journalism: informed and knowledgeable writer, editor, teacher, biographer, mentor, sounding board and confidant. When the news came on the morning of the 19th of May 2010 that he had lost his long battle with cancer, tributes began to pour in from all who had known and respected him.
