1. No purchase necessary to enter the prize draw. Entrance into the prize draw is free.

 

2. This prize draw is open to South African residents aged 18 years or over, with the exception of any person who is a director, member, partner, employee or agent of the Promoter, any consultant to the Promoter, as well as any family members of the Promoter’s employees, and any other person who is controlled by the Promoter.

 

3. In addition to the requirements which a winner will be required to meet in order to accept and enjoy the prizes as set out in these terms and conditions, if the winner is under the age of 18, the winner shall not be eligible for the prize if the winner does not receive from his/her legal guardian(s) the written consent to enter into and participate in the prize draw and to accept or enjoy the prize.

 

4. The prize draw starts at 12:00 (SAST) 1 September  2014. Entries must be received by 23h59 (SAST) 31 August 2014. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any entries that are incomplete, illegible, corrupted or fail to reach the Promoter by the relevant closing date for any reason. Entries via agents or third parties are invalid. Entries become the property of the Promoter and are not returned.

 

5. Only one winner per category will be selected. No entrant may win more than one hamper in this prize draw.

 

6. You could win a Penguin Book Prize valued between R100rrp and R1000rrp depending on the book(s) featured in the giveaway offer. In addition, you could win a Sorbet Gift Voucher, valued at R500rrp.

 

7. Prizes are not transferable, refundable or exchangeable.

 

8. Prizes are subject to availability. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right (a) to substitute alternative prizes of equivalent or greater value and (b) in exceptional circumstances to amend or foreclose the promotion without notice. No correspondence will be entered into.

 

9. All correctly completed entries will be entered into a prize draw. The first entry drawn per category will be announced as the winner.The winner will be notified via email or telephone within 5 working days of the closing date. The winner must claim their prize within 5 working days of the Promoter sending notification. If the prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these rules. The prize will be delivered to the winner’s physical address within 15 working days of the closing date.

 

10. To obtain details of the winners and runners up please email readmore@za.penguingroup.com stating the name of the prize draw in the subject heading 4 weeks after the closing date.

 

11. The Promoter will use any data submitted by entrants only for the purposes of running the prize draw, unless otherwise stated in the entry details. By entering this prize draw, all entrants consent to the use of their personal data by the Promoter for the purposes of the administration of this prize draw and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented.

 

12. Each entrant is notified of his/her right to decline taking part in reasonable post-event publicity and allowing the Promoter to use his/her names and photographs in such publicity provided that, within 2 days from the date that an entry is submitted, the participant sends written notification to the Promoter, at the email address specified above, of his/her decision to decline.

 

13. By entering the prize draw each entrant agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

 

14. Copies of these terms and conditions will be made available to participants via email on request.
