
In June 2025, Penguin Random House South Africa (PRHSA) proudly took
home an impressive seven accolades at the prestigious 30th Gourmand World
Cookbook Awards, held during the Cascais Food Summit in Portugal at the
Estoril Congress Centre. The event, hosted by Gourmand Awards founder
and president Edouard Cointreau, brought together culinary visionaries and
publishing powerhouses from around the globe. Known as the “Oscars” of
the food publishing world, the Gourmand Awards celebrate excellence in
food and drink writing across every continent and category. This year, PRHSA
shone on the world stage, with wins spanning diet, culture, regional cuisine,
and storytelling – demonstrating the incredible diversity and talent of South
Africa’s food landscape.
