Sally Andrew wins Nielsen Booksellers’ Choice Award

It gives us great pleasure to announce that Penguin Random House author Sally Andrew won the Nielsen Booksellers’ Choice – Book of the Year Award for her book, Recipes for Love and Murder: A Tannie Maria Mystery at the 2016 Nielsen Bookseller’s Awards ceremony, held at the Vineyard Hotel in Cape Town yesterday evening. 
 
The Nielsen Booksellers’ Choice Award is awarded to the title that South Africa’s booksellers most enjoyed reading, promoting and selling. Recent winners include Marguerite Poland, Tim Noakes, Frank Chikane, Deon Meyer, Alex Smith, John van de Ruit, Peter Harris and Jake White.
 
Shortlisted titles for 2016 included Death by Carbs by Paige Nick, Ikarus by Deon Meyer, Immer Wes by Irma Joubert, Little Suns by Zakes Mda, and Sweet Medicine by Panashe Chigumadzi. 
 
Recipes for Love and Murder is Andrew’s first book, published in South Africa by Umuzi, an imprint of Penguin Random House. Andrew’s delightful heroine blends together intrigue, romance and cooking in this irresistible mystery, complete with a few mouth-watering recipes.
 
Tannie Maria & the Satanic Mechanic is the sequel to Recipes for Love and Murder and will be published in October 2016.
