We launch our new Young Adult Facebook page...

On 10 April we launched The Wall – a Penguin Facebook page aimed at Young Adult readers in South Africa. This is a place where people who enjoy YA fiction can unleash their creativity, talk about the books they are reading, become book reviewers and generally debate any topic under the sun (plus win some great prizes!).

To launch it we're running a competition centred around the Mall Rats, the heroes in Lily Herne’s two South African books (Deadlands and Death of a Saint). The competition is an online scavenger hunt where people have to look for clues on the Facebook page, get their answers and obtain their password. Only those with the correct password can win the main prize of R5 000 cash or 2 x runner-up prizes of R1 000 cash (plus book hampers for all the winners).

The Mall Rats are a group of kick-ass zombie fighters who live in Cape Town's suburbs and rebel against the Resurrectionist State, run by the sinister Guardians. Lauren Beukes (author of Zoo City) describes Deadlands as "cool, provocative and sharp as spiny teeth. A viciously satirical, pop-culture loaded, teen zombie apocalypse with heart - it's smart, dark, sweet, gruesome, political and best of all, funny".

So get any YA fans you know to check out the Facebook page to find out more about it and stand a chance of winning!
