'The "Man Booker dozen" 2013 comprises an eclectic list of 13 novels that will surprise and intrigue in equal measure.'
We’re delighted to announce that four of our authors have made the Man Booker Prize longlist:
 
  • The Testament of Mary by Colm Tóibín (Viking)
  • A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki (Canongate)
  • Unexploded by Alison MacLeod (Hamish Hamilton)  - due for release in October 2013 in South Africa
  • The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton (Granta) - due for release in October 2013 in South Africa
'This year's prize judges can breathe out, briefly at least. Faced with scaling a gargantuan mountain of books – a daunting 151 of them – they have reached the first plateau, panting and aching no doubt, and whittled out a longlist for the 2013 prize. The “Man Booker dozen” comprises an eclectic list of 13 novels that will surprise and intrigue in equal measure.'
