Rain has been the order of the day this past week in Gauteng and other parts of the country. Terrible weather for driving but perfect for settling down with a good book! We’ve been reading Lesley Pearse’s new book Survivor. It’s a story set during the Second World War in which Mariette, a defiant, strong-willed eighteen-year-old learns that the only way to survive is with all the selflessness and compassion that she has within her. South Africa’s various political parties have started campaigning in earnest with one of the key issues being jobs.
