Tsitsi Dangarembga to produce a film of Imran Garda’s novel The Thunder That Roars

Tsitsi Dangarembga, well-known author of Nervous Conditions and founder and CEO of Nyerai Films, has optioned films rights to Imran Garda’s debut novel The Thunder That Roars. Dangarembga will supervise the adaptation and production of the film as creative producer. The company plan to begin principal photography as early as next year.

Zebra Press is set to publish Ryan Sandes's life story

On Friday 28 August South Africa’s ultra-distance running sensation Ryan Sandes will join the world’s toughest runners to compete in Europe’s biggest ultra-trail race over 166 km in the Alps, the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc. Simultaneously Penguin Random House is thrilled to announce that Sandes’s life story will be published under the Zebra Press imprint in March 2016.

André Brink and Ingrid Jonker’s love letters to be published in November 2015

The letters writer André Brink and poet Ingrid Jonker wrote to one another during their love affair in the early 1960s will be published by Umuzi in November. Brink, who died on 6 February 2015, was working on a novel titled Goudstof at the time of his death. He offered the correspondence between him and Jonker to Umuzi for publication three months before his death.
